Early in his career, Mark Gold was defending a speeding ticket issued by a Florida Highway Patrol trooper. During the trial, he asked a simple question:
"Do you have your daily radar log?"
The trooper looked confused.
Florida's administrative rules require radar units to be tested and calibrated, with those checks documented. When the judge reviewed the rule, the case was dismissed.
It's one of the many stories from nearly 40 years of defending drivers and a reminder that sometimes the smallest details can make the biggest difference.
