From Classroom to Industry: Culinary Students Attend Sysco Vendor Showcase South Central College Culinary Arts students recently attended a Sysco Vendor Event, where they gained valuable industry knowledge through product demonstrations, tastings, and networking opportunities. Students learned about food preparation techniques, product costs, and new and upcoming items entering the market. They also sampled a variety of products and tasting plates while building professional relationships with vendors, chefs, and industry representatives showcasing their products. The experience provided students with insight into current culinary trends and strengthened their understanding of the foodservice industry.

The SCC Culinary Arts program made us proud at CRAVE, a fundraiser for the FOCP BackPack Food Program. Competitors had to create a dish using ingredients randomly drawn from a backpack, and Team SCC drew one of the toughest challenges: fruit snacks!

We may be biased, but our table of SCC employees thought their creation was the best of the evening. Their talent, creativity, and teamwork were on full display as they supported such a worthy cause. 👏🍽️🎓
