South Central College's newest students arrived at Start-Up today with a variety of backgrounds and experiences. Case in point:
✅ Some already knew what a Dirty Soda is.
✅ Others left wondering why they hadn't tried one sooner.

In many ways, that's what starting college is all about: trying things you didn't know you'd love.

That's the fun of new beginnings. Whether it's your first Dirty Soda or your first steps at SCC, you never know where a willingness to explore something new might lead. 🥤

With Fall Semester less than two weeks away, this morning’s Start-up was packed with excited new students ready to begin their SCC journey! At this welcome event, they received all the information needed for a successful semester, met fellow students, got help with financial aid, ordered books, and learned about the many services SCC offers to help them enhance their college experience and reach their goals (click the photos for more details).

Join us in celebrating Rice County Fair Ambassador Candidate Bridget Wroblewski, a valued member of the South Central College community! Bridget is a PSEO student at SCC’s Faribault campus and a senior at Faribault High School. Thanks to her hard work and dedication, she is on track to graduate this spring with both her high school diploma and an associate degree from SCC. We’re proud of all she has accomplished and excited to see what’s next for her. 🎉

We are excited to introduce the 2027 Rice County Fair Ambassador Candidates!

Bridget Wroblewski is the 17 year old daughter of Dulce and James Wroblewski of Faribault. This fall she will be a senior at Faribault High School and is also enrolled as a PSEO student. Following her high school graduation, she wants to pursue a degree in dentistry at the University of Minnesota. Bridget has participated in volleyball, DECA, and AVID during her time in school. She will graduate with both her High School Diploma and her Associate of Arts Degree from South Central College in 2027. She is currently working towards her CNA certification this summer. Bridget also works at Ace Hardware in Faribault and is completing an internship with Adult Education through the Faribault Public Schools. In her free time, Bridget enjoys spending time with her family, friends, and pets. She believes this experience would help her grow as a leader while allowing her to give back to a community that has given me so much. Growing up, she’s enjoyed attending the Rice County Fair and seeing how it brings families, organizations, and community together. Bridget would like to be a 2027 Rice County Fair Senior Ambassador to serve as a positive role model in her community, work to promote the many events that happen in the community, and to give back to her community. The Rice County Fair has been an important part of her life and family memories, and she would be honored to represent and support it while inspiring others to become involved in their community. Bridget is sponsored by Faribault Foods.

South Central College recently welcomed five Members of Parliament and an embassy representative from the nation of Vanuatu as part of a congressional exchange program hosted by Global Minnesota.

During their visit, Dean of South Central College - Health Sciences, provided a tour of the college's Health Sciences labs and classrooms, highlighting how hands-on education and industry collaborations prepare students for careers in healthcare.

Thank you to Global Minnesota for including SCC in this international exchange experience!
