Come see us on April 16th at the Annual USU Center for Community Engagement Celebration Poster Session! We will be doing a poster presentation on our recent acquisition of the USU Service and Sustainability grant. This grant will be funding our project to donate 500 lbs of produce to students in need. Come enjoy refreshments, live music, and learn more about our farm!

🍁Last week of Harvest at USU Student Organic Farm!🍁

As we wrap up our 20th week of harvest, we want to extend a heartfelt thank you to all our amazing members. Your support and dedication have made this season truly special. We hope you’ll join us again next season for more fresh, organic produce and community fun! And if you’re not currently a member, please consider joining us for the 2025 season! The best part about being a student run farm, is we get better at what we do each season, that being said, we’ve got lots of exciting things planned!

Stay tuned for potential events in the coming weeks before we start preparing the farm for winter. We can’t wait to see you there! 🌾✨

🍂Fall is in the air!✨

With leaves beginning to change, and the growing season winding down, there’s still plenty of deliciousness to enjoy. We are happy to report that our field tomatoes have been doing especially well and are in full swing! Some fun facts about tomatoes:
💪🏻They are rich in lycopene, a photochemical that has antioxidant properties that may help protect DNA.
❄️ Tomatoes should NOT be stored in the fridge, as the cold air prevents the tomatoes from ripening, which gives them their flavor.
🪐 Tomatoes can be grown in space! And have no significant differences from tomatoes grown on Earth.

🌟 A huge thank you to our amazing members for your support! We couldn’t do this without you. And for those looking ahead, we are accepting signups for the 2025 growing season! Join us for another year of fresh, flavorful produce.

As we bid farewell to summer, our farm is bursting with a bounty of fresh produce! Here’s what you can look forward to:
🥒 Summer Squashes - Perfect for grilling or sautéing.
🍅 Tomatoes - Juicy and ripe, ready for your favorite dishes.
🍈 Melons - Sweet and succulent, a great summer treat.
🌶️ Peppers - Add some zest to your meals.
🎃 Winter Squash - Butternut, spaghetti, and pumpkins for hearty dishes.
🥔 Potatoes & Sweet Potatoes - Comfort food staples.
🥕 Carrots - Crunchy and sweet, great for snacking or cooking.

Still looking for fresh produce before the season is over?🙏🏻🥕
Come to our farm stand on Utah State University campus! The market will take place just behind the school’s student center (TSC), and will be held from 11am-3pm. Dates include: September 4, 11, 18, 25, and October 2 and 9.
Our CSA members may also pick up their share on these dates at the USU farmers market.
To our CSA members: if you haven’t already, please reach out to let us know if you would rather pick up on Wednesdays at the farmers market or Saturday’s from 10am-2pm.
Being a farm run by students of USU, we greatly appreciate our CSA members for adjusting their schedules to meet our new pick up times. We have the best supporters in the world! Thank you for all you do🌎❤️

As the school year approaches, we are looking forward to welcoming volunteers to help us harvest our produce! Volunteering hours will be on Tuesdays and Fridays from 6-8pm. This is a great way to learn more about growing produce and to serve local growers. We hope you will consider lending a hand, and we look forward to working with you! 🙌🏻🍉

Tomorrow morning we will be holding our anual Farm Field Day!☀️This event takes place right on our farm from 9am-12pm. Come explore our farm and learn about our history and mission. We are also excited to be hosting several extension agents and farming experts who would like to share what they have been doing to further agriculture knowledge. Come show your support for local, organic farms!🥬🥕🍅

On August 21st from 9am-12pm our farm will be hosting a farm field day! This event is open to the whole community, to come and learn about our organic farm and from those we have invited to come and present. Activities include a tour of our certified organic farm, presentations from experts and researchers, and light refreshments. Scan the QR code to let us know if you will be attending.
