LISA Academy Solar Technology and Research

LISA Academy Solar Technology and Research High school students working with solar energy in hopes to make a better future. They design, build, and race a solar car. Self-confidence booster!

This helps bring awareness to sustainable energy, STEM, and shows them what they are capable of. We are a group of high-school students who attend LISA Academy North, located in Central Arkansas. LISA Academy North is a college preparatory public charter. We excel in the STEM fields. As a school we want to form a Solar Car team. We also want to participate in the Solar Car Challenge. The Solar Car

Challenge is a challenge that motivates high school students around the country to think outside of the box and explore their creative sides, pushing them to challenge their brains in the science, engineering, and alternative energy fields. Students are asked to design, build, engineer and race cars.

We have some wonderful students returning for the 2022-2023 school year, as well as many new faces.

The first day of school (8-11-2021) started out with LISA North being on the news and the team having to arrive at 6a.m. The Solar Car was just one of the featured segments. The students enjoyed this opportunity to showcase what has been accomplished and what they hope for in the upcoming years. Mandy and her cameraman Max from KARK did a great job working with the group.
