Check out 3rd Grade!

After reading Ocean Sunlight and diving deep into the microscopic world of phytoplankton, 3rd grade students got to do the ultimate hands-on experiment-touching real phytoplankton!

In this activity, students to got to compare and contrast the book's stunning illustrations to the live phytoplankton swirling in the bowl, noticing every detail, shape, and shadow.

Some students even took their observations to the next level by smelling the phytoplankton and let's just say it didn't smell too great... 😂 🦠 🔭

Big ideas start with small steps! 📝

Our 3rd graders are diving into their very first Focusing Question Task of the school year. Using text evidence from William Steig’s Amos and Boris, students are learning how to plan and draft their writing step-by-step.

We’re working hard on ELA standard 3.W.S.2 as students learn to craft explanatory pieces using evidence directly from their sources. Watching their ideas take shape on paper is the best part of the day! 🐋🐭📚

Last week, our brand-new first-year teachers cut the ribbon to their very own classrooms! We celebrated this special moment with them and will continue to cheer them on as they begin this exciting journey.

We are so grateful to have them as a part of our school family!
