During this morning's chapel, history chair Billy Sullivan and new CAC history teacher Ricky Manes walked our Secondary campus through the events of September 11, 2001 and discussed its lasting impact on our country. Mr. Manes shared the story of a teaching colleague and dear friend whose sister was an attendant on Flight 11 and was killed on that terrible day. Also included in this post is a page from the 2002 yearbook that memorialized that unforgettable time at CAC.
We look back on a day filled with fear, grief and tremendous loss. Now, 25 years later, we want our students not only to understand those feelings and that moment, but we also want them to know how we came together to help, to pray and to support each other.
We will never forget the lives taken, the heroes who stepped up and the courage and resolve shown in the days that followed. May we honor the memory of the fallen, and may God be with our country as we remember.
