It’s amazing what happens when kids are given the space to explore the wild on their own terms. Let’s play I Spy - Spring Edition!

If your 1st grader isn’t writing paragraphs yet? Take a deep breath.

If handwriting feels slow, that’s okay.

If output seems light, do yourself a favor and look deeper.

Ask:
Can my child sustain attention longer than last year?
Can they regulate emotions more independently?
Can they persist through challenge?
Can they organize materials better?

That is executive growth.

And executive growth predicts academic success more reliably than early reading or math scores alone.

We are not rushing the bloom.
We are strengthening the roots.

And by junior high, you see the fruit.

This is what outdoor school joy looks like! Beginnings Festival was today. Character strengths are a key component of our educational model. For this festival, they were love of learning, curiosity, patience and open mindedness. We wore yellow to represent our new beginning and even the art got in on our color theme!
