Yesterday Mrs. Lyszkiewicz class practiced rounding using the rounding coaster strategy! Students wrote down their starting number that they rolled. Then, they identified the two hundreds or two tens that number falls between depending on what the question was asking. Then they circled the place they were rounding and drew an arrow to the bossy neighbor. The bossy neighbor tells us if we round up or down. We drive our car on the coaster to the bossy neighbor number. If we don’t make it over the hill, the car rounds down. If we do make it over the hill the car rounds down. It was a fun way to practice rounding! 🚗
