Monarch caterpillar hole puncher and leaf-shaped paper.

Art, practical life, hand strengthening, and science all in one! 😍

‘Tis the season for learning about the life cycle of the monarch!

One thing we know is that the monarch caterpillar is a milkweed munching machine. This work is a great introduction to using a hole puncher because the kids don’t have to be precise. Chomp away!

No Mama Llamas here!

Just Ollie the llama and Simon the alpaca who came to school for a visit today from Prairie Patch Farm. 😍

The kids were engaged, enthralled, enamored, and eager to pet and give them a hug. They learned all kinds of cool facts about llamas and alpacas. Ollie the llama also got a nice snack from our hackberry tree while he patiently waited. 😀

Two children used the brown stair, pink tower, and the help of a well-loved insect book to create this “leaning tower of Montessori pieces”.

Thank you to the Iowa Raptor Project for teaching us about raptors, letting the kids touch a claw and feathers, as well as showing us three of your birds: Hercules, Aldo, and Omaha. ❤️

The kids were soooo excited and were still talking about it today! 🦉
