Good morning Shamrocks!! ☘️

We have a special project at both North Liberty and Walkerton Elementary Schools. Each school has recently had exceptional, long-term teachers retire that have impacted thousands of students. When coworker and friend, Mrs Leodanski, thought on how to remember them, she came up with a brilliant plan.

All four teachers, plus the librarians at both elementaries, have put together their favorite books and books that are in high demand from students. If you and/or your student feels called to honor Mrs Gurtner, Mrs Hayes, Mrs Strong, and Mrs Weiss, please see the options below:

👉🏼Select a book(s) off the Amazon Wishlist to be sent to the coordinating chairperson. Include on the gift note which teacher and from whom you’d like to be donated from. Once the book arrives, a special gold embossed seal will be added to the book. The book will be placed in the library. *Special note, each book listed on the Amazon list showcases which teacher selected it, in case you desire to shop by teacher.
👉🏼Shop locally to find books that hold special meaning to you and one of the mentioned teachers. Deliver the book to North Liberty or Walkerton Elementary with a note which teacher and from whom you’d like to be donated from. Once the book arrives, a special gold embossed seal will be added to the book. The book will be placed in the library.
👉🏼Send a donation to NLES PTO PayPal to pay for embossing supplies, books etc to help fund this amazing cause.

✨We kindly ask for donations of school supplies or monetary donations to give back to the Back to School Bash hosted on 8/8 where backpacks and school supplies will be distributed to local students! 🫶🏼
