Today is World Humanitarian Day — a day to honor the people who show up, again and again, for communities in crisis.

This year's global theme calls for greater protection of the humanitarians and health workers who do this work every day, often at real personal risk. We feel that here too. In Haiti, we see it in the aid workers, medical teams, and emergency responders who keep showing up for children and families, even in the hardest conditions.

We also believe crisis response is only the beginning. That's why the Blueprint model exists — to help build something that lasts long after the crisis ends: schools that fund themselves, communities that own their future.

To every humanitarian making a difference, especially those serving in Haiti right now: thank you. 💛

Aquaculture Enterprise: A fish pond on hub grounds produces protein for the feeding program and market sales. Low-water tilapia species selected for the Haitian climate. The evidence: FAO low-input aquaculture guidance; BRAC fisheries in Bangladesh. This intervention generates an estimated $3 per child per year in revenue. One piece of a much bigger system. Together, these interventions dramatically lower the cost of education while enabling schools to become financially self-sustaining.

No Forgotten Kids is pleased our recent re-post from GCE-US resonated with so many people. The message is clear: we're not the only ones who believe the future of education in underserved communities is through self-financing, community-owned schools.

That's exactly what we're building. A model where schools generate their own revenue through solar energy, clean water, agriculture, and vocational training. Where communities own the outcome. Where donor dependency has an exit date.

We're in the proof of concept stage right now in Milot, Haiti, adding interventions and expanding spokes from the hub school. 78 evidence-based interventions.

Solar panels to power the entire campus, provide security lighting, and enable evening classes. A bakery, aquaculture ponds, and a poultry operation that teach real skills, feed the school, and generate revenue through market sales. Summer camp kicked off at Academie Lead Haiti in Milot. Workshops this session: sewing, painting, electronic repair, coding, and more.
Each workshop maps to a vocational pathway in A Blueprint: A Framework for Educational Autonomy. Textiles. Mechanical engineering. Technology.
The model includes 78 interventions designed to turn a school from a cost center into an economic engine.
We believe that in Haiti, a fully-integrated cluster will result in $194 all-in cost, per child/year. $342 revenue, per child/year. $148 surplus, per child/year.
