We’re Hiring Afternoon Float Teachers! 🌞

Looking for a rewarding part-time position with flexibility and time still left for yourself? Join our team at Sunshine Child Development Center in North Kingstown!

Hours: Monday–Friday afternoons between 12 PM–6 PM
Flexible start times: 12, 1, 2, or 3 PM
Minimum commitment: 2 days per week
Weekly hours available: 6–25 hours

We care for children ages 6 weeks through 5th grade in a warm, supportive environment. Our reputation in North Kingstown speaks for itself, and we’re looking for caring, dependable individuals to join our team!

Child Care Keeps RI Working: Pass The Child Care Is Essential Act!

Rhode Island families are facing a child care crisis. Currently, the average cost of infant care in a licensed center is $16,899 per year, a price that is unaffordable for 9 out of 10 families in our state. Despite this, Rhode Island is one of only seven states in the country investing only the bare minimum required to receive federal funding for affordable child care.

We need your help to tell Rhode Island legislators that child care is essential for our children, our families, and our economy!

Contact your legislators today and tell them to support the Rhode Island Child Care is Essential Act (H-7393 / S-2667). This critical legislation will:

• Expand Eligibility: Raise income limits so families earning up to 85% of the state median income can qualify for help, and allow them to remain in the program until they reach 100% of the state median income.
• Ensure Equal Access: Adjust provider rates to meet federal standards (the 75th percentile of the market rate), ensuring child care remains a viable option for providers and families.
• Address the Infant Care Shortage: Set infant care rates 30% higher than toddler rates to account for the higher staffing costs required to keep our youngest children safe.
