: The Feedback Loop Behind Perfect Tablet Weight 🔄
Consistency isn’t magic—it’s Automatic Weight Control (AWC). 🚀
In high-speed tablet manufacturing, you can’t physically weigh every single tablet as it comes off the press. Instead, sophisticated AWC systems rely on a critical indirect measurement: Compression Force.
This real-time feedback loop continuously monitors the force needed to compress each tablet and makes instant micro-adjustments to the weight cam setting to keep tablets consistent throughout a batch run.
Here is the 3-step loop: 1️⃣ MONITOR: The system measures the force required for each compression. 2️⃣ ANALYZE: The computer checks this force against your preset parameters. 3️⃣ ADJUST: 🔴 If force is TOO LOW (tablet is light) ➡️ System increases the fill volume. 🟢 If force is TOO HIGH (tablet is heavy) ➡️ System decreases the fill volume.
Why it matters: It ensures uniform quality, eliminates manual adjustments, allows for higher production speeds, and minimizes costly waste.
🛠️ THE SDU PRO TIP 🛠️ While AWC handles micro-adjustments during the run, your initial setup relies heavily on understanding your material properties. Fluctuations in your material’s bulk density can make your AWC system work too hard or even fail.
To get your initial setup right and troubleshoot faster, use our Free SDU Bulk Density Calculator before you run.
