Athletes don’t get into championship shape by showing up occasionally, and actors don’t either. If you’re ready to elevate your acting career, you need a consistent weekly practice. We are that space.

You want to book work. So when the audition comes in, you might be inclined to focus on getting it “right” or trying to “please.” But then you might just miss your creative instincts, your unique human experience of that scene than might be more dynamic than the breakdown. “She turns her head to the left and drops a gentle tear from her right eye” may not be stage direction that frames up your living experience in that moment.
This is art. Perfect doesn’t exist. Attempting to be perfect, to fit in a box dulls your light, makes you less unique, makes it less likely that you’ll stand out amongst the hundreds of other self-tape auditions Casting Directors will see.
We don’t mean being different for the sake of being different. You must listen carefully to all the directions and be in collaboration with the artists, technicians and Industry professionals who are offering you guidance in your work. But then, in that context, you must offer your unique experience in each moment, even if you have to let the breakdown or idea of it go. Or else you’re not offering art. And art is your product. It’s your value.
An audition is an offering, an expression of art that is alive, unique to you, and unique to each moment. It’s gonna be messy, imperfect, unpredictable. And that’s a really good thing.
So let’s be done with the pleasing, the selling yourself out, the perfectionism, the being afraid “you’ll never work in this town again if you don’t do it *right*” mentality.
This work- this art form- is about practice, commitment, passion, and HUMANITY. There is no “getting it right.” There is no one “perfect” way to do it. There is only you offering your unique voice (aka your talent) to a story - which is ultimately your “X-Factor” - which is ultimately... what books work.
This is what we explore and practice in all our classes. Head to the link in our bio to join!

Making… creating… is a personal act of rebellion.
Stop letting the noise, the Industry, or anything else get in the way of your power!
Your creative power…your power to succeed…is INSIDE.
But it’s YOUR responsibility to seize it so you can book more work, tell important stories, and change the world. Oh and also live the happiest creative life possible.
Acting careers aren’t given. They’re taken, forged by creative beasts willing to bring artistic leadership to an unforgiving Industry that often leans towards sameness. That leadership is a practice.
That’s what we do here at BGB. Our actors get that. It’s not always easy to believe it, but the practice confirms the belief.
We’re ready if you are. 👊 Head to the link in our bio to take your power back.
