The Fervent Years is a must-read for any actor curious about the roots of modern American theatre. Written by Harold Clurman—founder of The Group Theatre, director, and critic—it offers a behind-the-scenes look at how The Group Theatre was built in 1930s New York City. You’ll recognize iconic names like Elia Kazan, Lee Strasberg, Clifford Odets, and Clurman’s wife, Stella Adler, all of whom helped shape its legacy.

At SRS, our scene study classes are designed to meet you where you are and help you grow. From scene work to audition practice, directed scenes, monologues, on-set shooting exercises, texting exercises, and state work, we’ve got a variety of tools to sharpen your craft. If you hit a roadblock, our teachers are ready with tailored exercises to guide you forward on your acting journey. It’s all about helping you unlock your full potential!
