ππ Summer Academy: Learning Continues! βοΈ
At Twin Rivers Nutrition Services, learning doesn't stop when school is out! This week, our Team Leaders and Assistant Team Leaders participated in a ServSafe Food Safety Certification class led by our District Dietitian, Lisa Vorce.
The training focused on essential food safety practices, including proper food handling, preventing cross-contamination, temperature control, sanitation, and creating safe kitchen environments. By strengthening these skills, our leaders are better equipped to ensure the safe, high-quality meals our students depend on every day.
Continuous learning helps us grow as professionals and strengthens our commitment to serving students with excellence. When our staff invests in learning, everyone benefits!

βοΈπ Summer Academy: Learning Today, Serving Better Tomorrow! πβοΈ
While our students are enjoying their summer break, the Twin Rivers Nutrition Services Department is investing in our greatest resource our dedicated Nutrition staff and Team Leaders. Through our Summer Academy, we provide professional development and hands-on training designed to sharpen skills, enhance knowledge, and strengthen our commitment to serving nutritious, high-quality meals to our students.
Yesterday, we had the privilege of learning from Chef Melanie, who led an engaging hands on class focused on the importance of following standardized recipes, using exact measurements, and understanding how even small changes can affect the taste, texture, quality, and consistency of food. Participants explored the science behind cooking and experienced firsthand why precision matters in creating meals that students can enjoy and rely on every day.
But Summer Academy is about more than recipes itβs about continuous learning, teamwork, food safety, culinary excellence, and a shared passion for nourishing our school community. By investing in our staff, we ensure that when students return to school, they receive meals prepared with knowledge, care, and excellence.
At Twin Rivers Nutrition Services, we believe that learning never stops, because every lesson we gain helps us better serve our students. ππ½οΈ
