Your academy staff has been busy going through equipment and preparing to revamp the front office.

The recruits continue to work hard, learning everything from firearm nomenclature to various laws.

We can't wait to show you the finished office very soon.

Basic Academy 38 is learning the importance of drill and ceremonies, proper uniform wear, and being introduced to criminal law. They are as eager as they are diverse.

As this year's academy continues, we will introduce you to some of the recruits. They vary in experience, diverse cultural backgrounds, and job history.

Basic Academy 38 has officially started! They endured their first day of physical fitness training and classroom standards. They learned what will be expected of them and that they will be fully supported by their staff.

We know they were nervous during their first day but they all did great. We can't wait to bring you updates on their journey throughout their academy.

Basic Academy 37 graduated and many of the recruits have moved on to their respective law enforcement positions.

It's time for Basic Academy 38! This group of motivated people starts their journey this week. We can't wait to post their progress and show you all that with hard work and commitment, anything can be achieved.

Basic Academy 37 has officially graduated! This incredible group of 11 men went through months of physical training, academic learning, and challenges they never knew they could face and overcome.

Many of them graduated having already been hired by various law enforcement agencies. Many others are in the process of getting hired.

We are so proud of them and want to welcome them into law enforcement. We also want to thank all of the local agencies who attended.

The Los Rios Community College District starts another academy in January. If you think you have what it takes, get your application in and start your journey.

The recruits of Basic Academy 37 are going through final scenario testing.

These final steps of the academy allow each recruit to show that they can respond to potential calls for service and make appropriate decisions as if they were in real-world situations.

The recruits from Basic Academy 37 are in their final month of training. They are practicing intensely for their final scenario testing and getting ready to become California's newest peace officers. After months and months of academic, physical, and mental preparation, they are feeling confident. We can't wait to see them soar!

Recruits from Basic Academy 37 participated in the Run With The Badge event. This event honors Officer Tara O'Sullivan from the Sacramento Police Department as well as Officer Natalie Corona from the Davis Police Department.

Both of these brave officers lost their lives in the line of duty in 2019. This event was physically challenging, but both the O'Sullivan and Corona families were able to see how much Tara and Natalie are loved and missed.

Recruits from Basic Academy 37 spent their Saturday learning how to conduct proper vehicle stops.

Recruits learn tactics, proper vehicle placement, and steps on how to keep not only themselves safe, but the occupants of the car they pulled over.

These recruits are getting toward the end of their academy and are very excited to put all they've learned to good use.
