North Hero Eagle Care believes that a child's early years of development is important. Childcare is offered for children ages 3 and up.
I hope all of you are doing well and staying healthy! I am still waiting for the green light from Superintendent Clark and Principal Ellison whether or not I can offer care at the school on June 1st. There are many factors that play into this! I am trying to stay as positive as I can! I have been developing new protocols in hopes we can start on June 1st! Below you will find new guidelines, protocols and requirements for Eagle Care!
- [ ] All staff will be wearing a mask.
- [ ] Children are not required to wear a mask but if they feel like they want to that is fine.
- [ ] Parents will not be entering the building. Parents will ring the doorbell and we will let you know we see you and will be bringing your child to you. We ask that you keep a 6 foot distance outside while waiting for your child. You may send a text message letting staff know you are minutes away so we can get your child ready. If you need to speak to Eagle Care Staff please do so by text, phone call or email.
- [ ] There will be a hand sanitizing station outside the door. Please have yourself and child use the hand sanitizer before ringing the doorbell and touching the door. There will also be gloves and mask if needed.
- [ ] When your child is received by staff there will be a health check which will include temperature check, symptoms check etc.
- [ ] If your child becomes ill while while attending Eagle Care, we will ask parents to pick-up the child ASAP. The child will not be able to return to Eagle Care until symptoms have subsided and/or a doctor note has been received.
- [ ] Children will no longer allowed to bring any sort of toys to Eagle Care.
- [ ] The only thing your child will need to bring is a pair of extra clothing, backpack, lunch, water bottle and all items needed to complete schoolwork.
- [ ] Your child’s belongings will be in a locker that is given to each child marked with their name! Every locker needs to be emptied daily so it can be disinfected daily.
I am hoping to be able to announce to you this week that I will see you on June 1st. If you have any questions please feel free to reach out!
We just heard that we can officially re-open on June 1st!
Our program (hopefully) will be able to accommodate 20 children total.
Will you need childcare for your child starting June 1st? Will you need all 5 days, only a few days? Please be very specific with the days you will need!
Please do understand we will have new regulations we will have to follow. Those will be out next week!

Thank you for all your support and collaboration thus far in our shared efforts to keep our childcare program community safe in the uncertainty of the COVIS-19 virus pandemic.
I am aware that childcare is a critical service for families, children and our community with the civic responsibility to keep you, your children, my family, and our community safe and healthy at this time. Social distancing to limit the spread of the virus is such an important holding action and so difficult to practice in caring for very young children.
Already, I am taking additional precautions and have increased the handwashing, sanitizing of toys and spraying those smaller ones with disinfectant to keep the germs low.
I am ready to take more serious measures and I need your help.
If you need to be at work and you need my services, I am here for you as long as I can or until programs are mandated to close.
I will continue to charge full tuition for all families that have their children enrolled in Eagle Care from 11:30 during this time of reduced operation and also in the event that I need to close. This means that tuition will be due each Monday for the next 3 weeks while school is closed. That is the only way I can continue to sustain a viable program for the future and provide for my own family. This will also ensure that care will be here for you and your children when this crisis is over.
I am asking that families who do continue attending the program, maintain the vigilance in regard to hand washing with hot water and soap for 30 seconds upon arrival at drop off. If your child has any symptoms of illness, please keep them home for up to 72 hours after they are symptom-free without medication, this is per the CDC.
It is an honor to be trusted with caring for your children. Thank you for working with me to do your best to keep our children safe and healthy during this complicated time. I know that we will get through this together. Please do not hesitate to contact me with your thoughts and questions and I will continue to keep you informed.
[03/15/20] I’ve contacted most families but if you haven’t heard from me and need Eagle Care please reach out so I can plan accordingly! Thanks!
I have been asked by many families if I will close Eagle Care due to Covid-19. I WILL NOT close Eagle Care unless myself, husband or children become ill! I am aware that many families will still have to work if schools close so we will make accommodations, so Eagle Care will remain open! I will keep everyone updated as we receive more information!
