On November 10, 2025, the Haverhill Cooperative School District voted to provide school breakfasts and lunches at all 3 Haverhill Cooperative Schools at no cost to all students from Wednesday November 12 through Friday December 19, 2025. The Haverhill Cooperative School Board recognizes the uncertainties and financial strains that our families are facing, especially at this time of year. By providing all our students with access to free breakfast and lunch for the next 5- 6 weeks, the school board hopes to provide families with some relief.

At this time, free meals for all 3 Haverhill Cooperative Schools will end January 5, 2026.

Just a reminder, that free and reduced meals applications are accepted throughout the school year. If your financial situation has changed since the start of the school year, please apply for the free and reduced meals program. If you need assistance with the application reach out to Dawn Burleson [email protected] at the SAU 23 office. Application information is highly confidential.

The federal government reimburses the school district for meals of students receiving free and reduced meals. The number of students receiving free and reduced meals is also an indicator used to award additional federal grant funds. These grant funds are used to pay staff salaries, provide after school programming, special student programming, and teacher training. If you qualify or think you qualify for reduced or free meals for your child(ren), your application benefits your child(ren) as well as the school district.

📢 Important Update for SAU #23 Families. Even though the federal government is currently experiencing a shutdown, the Free & Reduced School Meals Program remains fully funded. ✅ At the start of each school year, families receive an application for this income-based program — but please remember that you can apply at ANY time during the school year.

🚧 SAU #23 Transportation Update 🚧 We’ve received word that Brushwood Road in North Haverhill will be closed in sections from 8 AM – 5 PM, Monday, October 27 through Friday, October 31.
🚌 Bus #5 travels this route.
✅ Morning pickup times and locations will not be affected.
📞 If your child’s afternoon drop-off is impacted, you should have already received a call from your child’s school to discuss options.
👉 We ask that only students currently assigned to Bus #5 ride it from October 27–31, 2025.

💗🎀 HCMS Pink Out on the Mountain! 🎀💗Our 6th graders rocked their Pink Out gear while visiting Pinkham Notch at Joe Dodge Lodge today! 🌸⛰️ Not only did they represent HCMS with pride, but they also showed their support for Breast Cancer Awareness Month in a truly inspiring setting. Special shoutout to the 6th grade team for making this a memorable day of learning, adventure, and awareness. 💪💗
