Congratulations to Mark Zurlis ‘12 on his induction into the North Haven High School Sports Hall of Fame!

Mark was a three-year starter at linebacker and a captain his senior season. He finished his varsity career with a 25-5 regular season record, winning three SCC Division II East Championships and qualifying for the CIAC Class L playoffs as both a junior and senior.

Mark ranks 2nd all time in program history with 298 career tackles and won the Thanksgiving Day Game Defensive MVP award as a senior. He made All SCC in 2010 and 2011 and was named to the Levi Jackson All Star Team in 2011. As a senior, Mark was also named to the CHSCA All State Team and earned 1st Team honors on the New Haven Register All State Team.

He was a three-year starting catcher for the baseball team and as a senior played lacrosse, serving as a starting defenseman for the schools’ first ever state playoff victory.

The 25th North Haven High School Sports Hall of Fame Awards ceremony will take place Saturday, October 24 at Woodwinds in Branford.

Congratulations to Max Joyner ‘91 on his induction into the North Haven High School Sports Hall of Fame!

Max was a dynamic playmaker on the gridiron, leading North Haven to consecutive 8-2 seasons in 1989 and 1990. He was elected captain as a senior, won the Thanksgiving Day Game Offensive MVP award and earned All Housatonic League honors. Max still ranks in the Top 3 in program history for career catches and receiving touchdowns. He continued his playing career at the University of New Haven where he amassed 1,271 career receiving yards. Max was inducted into the New Haven Gridiron Club Hall of Fame in 2016.

The 25th North Haven High School Sports Hall of Fame Awards ceremony will take place Saturday, October 24 at Woodwinds in Branford.

Congratulations to Lou Ciarleglio ‘07 on his upcoming induction into the New Haven Gridiron Club Hall of Fame!

Lou was a Captain of the 2006 team and led North Haven to a 7-3 finish and the SCC Division II East Championship. As a senior, he was voted team MVP and won the Thanksgiving Day Game Most Valuable Defensive Player award.

He was named to the Levi Jackson All Star Team in both 2005 and 2006. He earned All SCC honors and was named to the CHSCA All State Team as a linebacker his senior season, and represented New Haven County in the Hall of Fame Classic All Star Game.

The New Haven Gridiron Club Hall of Fame Induction ceremony will take place Wednesday, September 9 at Woodwinds in Branford.
