David Kallander, Ph.D., Toxicologist for the Connecticut Department of Public Health.

"the new North Haven High School (under construction) has significant mold issues. The caller said that there's mold on the cinder blocks, sheetrock and fireproofing beams. Evidently it's bad enough that the construction workers are getting sick from it. The caller said that in one bathroom the moldy sheetrock has been put behind cinder blocks so I guess it's there for good."

If the moldy sheetrock was put behind cinder blocks then it is most likely still in the school making people sick and potentially leading to cancer later in life. Call the North Haven Board of Education, the Superintendent, and your First-Selectman to ensure your children's safety.

Terry Hannon requested a walkthrough of the North Haven High School with Quinnipiak Valley Health District’s (QVHD) John Laudano after observing the soaking wet ceiling tiles. Grant Peckham, Supervisor of Buildings and Grounds for North Haven Schools, stated he changed the ceiling tile the night before the walkthrough and then less than an hour before the walkthrough. The leak that was causing the wet ceiling tile still hadn’t been fixed.
