Adults - Monday 7:15-8:30PM, Thursday 7:15-8:30PM

Try Uechi Ryu Karate for free with Ian Sweeney on Friday Jan 12, 6-7 PM at Air Temple Arts!
Uechi Ryu Karate is a traditional Okinawan style of karate named for its founder Kanbun Uechi. We focus on close range fighting, conditioning the body and mind, and developing rapid, powerful strikes.
We will learn the fighting stance, a few basic techniques, and how to apply them skillfully against an opponent. No prior experience necessary!
All ages welcome! Please come dressed in clothing that allows you to move freely.

Hi, my name is Ian Sweeney - I'm the page admin and sensei (instructor) for the karate classes at the North Haven Rec Center!
I teach and practice Uechi Ryu Karate, an Okinawan style of karate named for its founder Kanbun Uechi. Uechi Ryu practice involves kihon (technique practice), kata (solo forms practice), and kumite (sparring and partnered practice), along with body conditioning. We focus on close range techniques and generating devastating power!
Karate is fun, challenging, and builds confidence and self-defense skills you can carry with you in all areas of your life. If you're interested in classes for yourself or your child, please feel free to contact me at: [email protected]
