As the PTAs of North Haven Public Schools, we’ve received questions about our role in the upcoming school budget referendum.

While PTAs do not create, manage, or vote on the Board of Education budget, we are committed to advocating for children and supporting our schools. Because budget decisions directly affect students, families, educators, and school programs, we believe it’s important for our community to stay informed.

The revised Board of Education budget, which will be voted on June 9, includes staff and program reductions, increased class sizes, and other changes that will impact students across North Haven.

As organizations dedicated to the welfare and education of children, we encourage all eligible voters to learn about the proposed budget, understand its potential impact on our schools, and participate in the referendum process.

Every vote matters. Together, we remain committed to supporting the students, families, educators, and staff who make North Haven schools strong.

We wrapped up Teacher Appreciation Week at Green Acres Elementary with one of our FAVORITE traditions — our teacher supply drive! 🍎

What started last year quickly became a fan favorite, and our GA community showed up in the BEST way once again. Our teachers shared their classroom wants and needs, we created one big list, and our amazing families absolutely delivered. 💚

The donations this year were incredible, and today our teachers got to “shop” for supplies to help finish this school year strong and get a head start on next year. 📚

It was such a fun way to end the week, and we are beyond thankful for the generosity and support of our Green Acres families and community.

This morning’s lineup included bagels, muffins, yogurt, parfait add ins, cookies from 🍪, and a hydration station stocked with electrolytes + iced tea packets to keep our MVPs fueled all day long. 💪

Thank you teachers for the heart, hustle, and teamwork you pour into our students each and every day. We are stronger together because of you.❤️
