NERYC JR Sailing North East River Yacht Club Junior Sailing Programs: Scholastic teams spring and fall, Learn to Sail and Bay Racer Travel Team summer camp programs.

Summer programs open to all aged 8 - 18. Sailing program for youth 8 -18 years with a focus on learning, safety and fun. Program objectives :
To make sailing accessible to youth. To promote the sport and teach children how to sail to the best of their ability and interest. To provide a safe environment for fun and learning. To develop life-long values and skills such as sportsmanship, consideratio

n for others, teamwork, self-worth, humility, self confidence, organization, health and fitness and an appreciation for nature and the environment. To build skills: seamanship, sailing and racing skills. To develop their skills and competence through both individual and team participation. To provide opportunities to develop competitive sailing skills in regattas and in races. The club strives to provide youngsters with the opportunity to learn to sail through their summer programs, as well encouraging continued interest and participation in various club sailing, racing and travel team activities:
- Summer Learn to Sail Program is led by our team of experienced US Sailing certified sailing instructors, participants receive structured training utilizing our fleet of Optimists, Lasers, C420's at our facility on the sheltered waters of the Northeast River, northern Chesapeake Bay. We cater for all skill levels for youngsters aged 8- 18 years.
- Club racing and participation in away regattas.
- Fun activities for club junior membes and families.
- Big-boat crewing opportunities.
