Work by Upcoming Painters

Passages gallery will be exhibiting a group of young painters that are currently studying art at Northern Kentucky University.

Perhaps the most daunting task of the young artist is to develop a voice by experimenting with a variety of media and conceptual possibilities. By collecting their work and bringing it to Passages, these young artists are presenting us a view of where each one of them is beginning to carve out his or her individual visual vocabulary.

It is my sincerest pleasure to be able to bring a collection of their emerging voices outside of the shelter of their studios and into the gaze of the public. Please join us for the opening reception on Saturday, February 4th, from 6:00 to 8:30pm at Passages Gallery at Goodman.

Passages Gallery added a 3rd mural to the NCH business strip on Galbraith Road. Thanks to all who came out to help, including: NCH high school students, LifeSpring Church's Jr. High youth group, and a number of adult volunteers.

Passages will be adding another mural to the business strip on Galbraith Road this Saturday, August 20. Director Matt Miller-Novak, board members Angela Mulcahy and Jason Foley, and a host of volunteers from NCH schools and LifeSpring Church will be working from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on the mural for Northern Hills Pharmacy. If you get a chance, stop by and check out the progress.

We hope to see many of you at the Fundraiser for the Children's Retreat tomorrow, Saturday, at Passages Gallery. The event will start at 6 p.m. and there will be a silent auction for the art being sold and some great prizes will also be raffled. It's going to be a great night for a great cause, so we hope you can join us!

Passages is offering a Zentangle workshop on Saturday, August 6, from 1-3 p.m. Certified instructor Lisa Jameson will lead participants through an introduction to this relaxing method of creating beautiful images from repetitive patterns. The cost of $30 will cover instruction, materials and refreshments. For registration information, email [email protected].

We hope you can join us for the Local Artist Exhibition at Passages tomorrow, July 9, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Come out and support the work of artists who live and work in North College Hill.

Local Artist Exhibition 2011

Passages will create North College Hill's 2nd mural on Galbraith Road this weekend. Director, Matt Miller-Novak, and NCH art teacher, Angela Mulcahy, will lead volunteers in the painting of a mural on the side of Buddy Rogers Music. This year's volunteers include NCH Students, adult volunteers, and volunteers from LifeSpring Church. The group will be working Saturday 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and Sunday 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
