The Brentwood Art Show was a hit! Families worked together to make origami butterflies and then engaged in a scavenger hunt to gallery walk all of the art our scholars produced this year. Special shout out to Alison Perez and Latasha Hollins for their work in the arts this year and for spearheading the event! 🎨

Congrats to Jamé Davis for being named the Brentwood January Employee of the Month! An 8th grade math teacher, Ms. Davis earned 2.1 MOG (growing students at a rate of 2 school years!!!) from Fall to Winter so far this year. She was nominated more than 8 times by her peers and we are proud to call her a Bulldog. Shout out to Ms. Davis! 👏🏼 👏🏼

The Gibbes Museum of Art is hosting Meeting Street Schools for a free night at the museum! On Wednesday, February 7th from 5pm to 7pm Meeting Street Schools’ students, families, and staff are invited to enjoy a pizza dinner and a night of art at the Gibbes downtown. Attendees will have the opportunity to make art to take home, tour the Gibbes, and participate in a future installation at the Gibbes. RSVPs will be required so please follow the link on the flyer or reach out to your school to RSVP today! RSVPs due Wednesday, January 31st. Shuttles will be provided from Burns to the Gibbes and back throughout the night. Please see the February Family Memo coming out soon for shuttle times.

iReady Winter Testing launches tomorrow, Tuesday, December 5th and will run until Friday, December 8th. To prepare, please remind students to take their time and try their best. Please also make sure to be on time to school and they get a good nights sleep every night this week!

November Family Empowerment Night was a success! We discussed internet safety and shared questions and best practices as a learning community. We ended the night with a scavenger hunt! Pizza was eaten, partnerships were strengthened, and dress down passes were won! See you all on Dec. 12 for our next learning night 💚

Brentwood Basketball tryouts for 7th and 8th graders will be held in the Brentwood gym Nov. 27-30! 🏀

All Brentwood Families are welcome to attend the Quarter 1 Award Ceremonies on Friday, November 3rd! We hope to see you there 💚

We will have our fall festival on Friday, October 27th for students during the school day. All students are invited to dress down or in costume to celebrate. Please be sure to read costume guidelines and send a uniform with your scholars in backpacks. We will NOT be dressing down or wearing costumes on Halloween - Tuesday, October 31st.

Congratulations to our September Employee of the Month, Taylor Harrison! Mrs. Harrison serves as our Elementary Exceptional Educator Team Lead as well as 3rd Grade Teacher. She is always willing to go above and beyond for her EE team and for her students. We love you Mrs. Harrison and congrats on the birth of your baby boy!!
