We can’t believe the nursery babes will be in the ONE YEAR OLD class in August! Thanks to Whitney and Victoria, our ADS babies will be ready! Leave some love for our amazing nursery teachers! We are so grateful for them! ✨ @ North Charleston, South Carolina

It’s time for our first challenge to celebrate our teachers at ADS! Monday’s are marvelous because of our teachers. Have your kiddo share or draw their favorite thing about their teacher. Make sure to tag us so we can show our teachers! 🤍

Awaken Day School Families,

First, I want to say thank you for being flexible, understanding, and positive throughout the past few months. I am grateful for you and your family in the many ways you have supported Awaken Day School, even through the unknowns.

Governor McMaster announced that all schools in South Carolina would not return to the classroom for the 2019–2020 school year. Awaken Day School follows Charleston County School District; therefore, we also will not be returning for the remainder of the school year. While I am sadden by the outcome, the Lord is faithful and is still in control!

Originally, Awaken Day School was going to credit half of March’s tuition to when we would return. Since we are unable to return for the 2019-2020 school year, there are a few options I would like to share:

1. The remaining half of March’s tuition can be applied to your child’s enrollment fee for the 2020-2021 school year.
2. The remaining half of March’s tuition can be refunded.

Once you decide which option is best for your family, please contact me by May 8, 2020 so we can make arrangements.

As always, if you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to ask.

I am looking forward to a brand new school year in our brand new space! I hope to see everyone in August!

The Very Hungry Caterpillar Activity:

1. Cut the top off an egg carton so you have just the compartments the eggs sit in.
2. Cut that part in half so you have two lines of 6 and 6. These are your caterpillars!
3. Give your child one of the rows and let them paint it! (If you don’t want the mess of paint you can use markers instead.)
4. Once your caterpillar is painted and had time to dry, you can add eyes and pipe cleaners!

A read aloud is coming later today! Stay tuned!

Good Morning & Happy Monday, ADS! Many have asked for contact information from other families so your kids can stay connected. ADS does not give out personal information, however, if you’d like to get connected with classmates, post your contact information below so others can see & then schedule those FaceTime & Zoom calls-it’s that simple! Make sure to check all our social media platforms so you’re staying connected everywhere! 💥

It’s Thinking Thursday, ADS! Need an idea with all your extra Easter eggs? Here is a great way to encourage early reading using CVC words. Pull the Easter egg apart so you have 2 halves. On one half, write a 2-letter word ending of your choice. On the other half, write 4 or 5 different letters around the edge of the egg, making sure to use letters that will make a word when joined with the 2-letter word ending on the other egg. Snap the egg back together and twist the egg around until you line up each letter with the word ending and have your kid say each word they make. 🐰

Hi, ADS! Did you know Monday-Friday, at 10:00AM, @riverbankszoo goes LIVE on their FB page for Z-Learning? Your kids will learn about many of the zoo’s animals and their diets. Check it out this morning! 🦁🐯🐻

Who loves scavenger hunts? 🙋🏼‍♀️ Here are a few different hunts for your children to complete! Let us know if your kiddos enjoyed this activity! @ Charleston, South Carolina

Good Morning & Happy Monday, ADS! We’ve had many parents ask for their child’s schedule from ADS. While each schedule varies by class & age, we made a sample schedule that you can implement at home if you’d like! Remember to show yourself grace & be flexible! We were always flexible with our schedule because we work with kiddos! Make it your own & be unique! We have found that children thrive off of some type of structure & routine. Hopefully this will be beneficial to you & your family! ✅

Easter Resurrection Rolls

WHAT YOU NEED:
1 package crescent rolls, large marshmallows, 2 tbsp melted butter, & 2 tbsp cinnamon sugar

* Preheat oven to 375°degrees.
* Hold marshmallow & explain it represents Jesus who is perfect, sinless, & holy.
* Roll the marshmallow in the melted butter, then in the cinnamon sugar mixture. When Jesus died, He willing took all our sins upon Himself. See how the cinnamon looks dirty on the marshmallow? The cinnamon represents our sins that Jesus took away when he died.
* Carefully wrap the marshmallow in the crescent roll & seal it tight! Jesus was placed in a tomb that was sealed. The crescent roll represents the tomb that was closed tightly!
* Cook crescent rolls on greased baking sheet until golden brown. Explain that 3 days later, some of Jesus’ friends went to the tomb, but when they arrived they saw something incredible...
* Cut the roll open-the tomb was EMPTY! The marshmallow disappeared, just like Jesus was no longer in the tomb.

JESUS IS ALIVE! 💐🤍
