Raptors, please help us in congratulating juniors James Malm and Dora Wang, who have served, over the past eight months as fellows with the New Voters 250 Organization, a national nonprofit focused on civically empowering youth through voter registration drives. Through the fellowship James and Dora travelled to Washington D.C. for a multi-day summit, where they met and heard from experts such as Angela Duckworth (author of Grit and professor at University of Pennsylvania), Sarah Elfreth (U.S. representative) and Dr. Vivek Murthy (former U.S Surgeon General).
As fellows they have organized and hosted voter registration drives in their respective communities and are asked to create and lead a project about which they are passionate. For example, James has supported a variety of causes, creating innovative female hygiene solutions, producing podcasts with elected officials, and developing initiatives focused on civic engagement and community empowerment.
