Our 4th grade GT students kicked off the year by discussing their goals and the skills needed to achieve them. Our brainstorming included patience, perseverance, grace, strategies, planning, and "blocking out the noise". Students had an insightful conversation with our Air Force visitors about setting goals and pushing through challenges. The most impactful takeaway was to block out the negative noise, keep moving forward, and stay focused on your finish line!

Two weeks down, and our school is already filled with learning, laughter, new friendships, teamwork, and so many moments of connection. 🫶

At North Charleston Elementary, Belonging is one of our core values—and it’s more than just a word. It’s students learning one another’s names, classmates working together, teachers building relationships, adults sharing lunch with students, friends making each other smile, and classrooms creating communities where everyone has a place.

Yesterday we welcomed over 200 families into our school for our “Meet The Teacher” event! We LOVED seeing everyone and cannot wait to officially welcome our students back on Tuesday! It’s going to be a great year at NCE! 🐬

NCES Families, we will be hosting Field Day for grades 3-5 on Tuesday, May 19th and grades CD-2 on Wednesday, May 20th.

Please make sure your students are dressed appropriately to be outside in the morning hours and have a water bottle if possible. We are looking forward to a day of fun, games and a lot of laughs!
