To end our Spirit Week, we powerfully celebrated Black Excellence Day! This morning, our students proudly marched in a parade, holding posters of Black pioneers who paved the way for future generations. Seeing our young scholars honoring history and embracing the power of representation was an inspiring sight. 💛🖤❤️💚

On behalf of Hunley Park Elementary School, we sincerely thank all our families for coming out and supporting our Black History Month Program. Your presence and participation made the event truly special!
A very special thank you to Karen Smalls Horlback for sharing her time and talent with us. She gave an incredible lesson on crafting Charleston’s very own Palmetto Flowers, allowing our scholars to learn this beautiful tradition. Each student had the opportunity to create their own Palmetto Flower and take it home as a keepsake.
We would also like to extend our heartfelt appreciation to the parents who generously donated food for our event. Your kindness and contributions helped make our celebration even more memorable.
