Good morning Hunley Park Families,

We are excited to see you this afternoon for Meet the Teacher! Families whose last name begins with N-Z should attend between 2:00 and 3:30. Families whose last name begins with A-M should attend between 3:30 and 5:00. If you have not yet registered, you can do so this afternoon. The event will end promptly at 5:00 p.m.

If you are unable to attend, your child's teacher will contact you. At that time, you may arrange a time to meet. Parents will not be able to walk children to class on the first day of school. We are looking forward to a wonderful school year!

¡Nos entusiasma verlos esta tarde en el evento para conocer a los maestros! Las familias cuyo apellido comienza con las letras de la N a la Z deben asistir entre las 2:00 y las 3:30 p. m. Las familias cuyo apellido comienza con las letras de la A a la M deben asistir entre las 3:30 y las 5:00 p. m. Si aún no se han registrado, pueden hacerlo esta tarde. El evento finalizará puntualmente a las 5:00 p. m.

Si no pueden asistir, el maestro de su hijo se pondrá en contacto con ustedes. En ese momento, podrán acordar una cita para reunirse. Los padres no podrán acompañar a los niños hasta el salón de clases el primer día de escuela. ¡Esperamos tener un año escolar maravilloso!

CCSD Board Recognizes Student Achievers and Athletes including our very own Hunley Park SeaBees - Hunley Park Elementary School’s 5th-grade robotics team - recently competed in the International SeaPerch Challenge in College Park, Maryland. Two hundred and ten teams from six countries participated in the event.

The team consisted of four members: Hayden Bridges, Ella Flaherty, Mohammed Hawter, and Kyra White. Their coach is Isabella Conrad, and they received support from Patrick Shell.

The team met after school to build a remotely operated vehicle (ROV) for the competition, which they named Coraly-Meg. In the competition, they had to maneuver the ROV through an underwater obstacle course and challenge course to earn points for their team.

They qualified for the international competition by winning first place in the SeaPerch Regional Charleston Challenge. They competed in the middle school stock class and were the only elementary team to compete in the Charleston Challenge this year.
