Congratulations to the Class of 2026! They were encouraged by the Commencement Speaker, Chaplain Matthew Sprecher, to be strong and courageous as they step into a point of new beginnings and new responsibilities.

Seniors are on their Senior Trip; they spent a week at The Wilds and this weekend visiting National Monuments and Memorials in Washington D.C.

Samuel Rysta lives in Greenville, SC and works as a loan officer for Barrett Financial Group.

MIDTESOL (Mid-America Teachers of English to Speakers of Other Languages)

Get to know your MIDTESOL board! Sharon Gile is co-chair of our Community College / Adult Education Interest Section.

Dr. Sharon Gile is Assistant Professor for Composition/ESL at Illinois Central College. She has worked in education for thirty years and has taught English in the United States, Mexico, Taiwan, and Brazil. She also served as a global training coordinator for the German automotive industry, which allowed her to travel extensively and to develop courses for speakers all over the world. Sharon is dedicated to advocating for her students and to learning from other cultures and seeks to help her students embrace their multilingualism both in and out of the classroom. In addition to teaching English, she advises the Creative Writing Club and writes poetry. She also dedicates much of her free time to helping with community organizations.

Congratulations to Delaney McGinnis (Interior Architecture and Design, BFA) who has been hired as an interior designer at Ario Studio in Travelers Rest, S.C.
