🏫✨ What a great turnout for Open House!

It was wonderful welcoming our Phoenix families back into the building and seeing so many of you connecting with our teachers and staff. We hope this evening gave you the opportunity to put faces to names, learn more about your scholar’s classes, ask questions, and get a glimpse into what this school year has in store.

Thank you to every family who took the time to join us and to our amazing faculty and staff for making the evening a success.

We’re grateful for the partnership of our families and excited for another great year at Palmetto Scholars Academy.

Tomorrow is an Early Release Day, and ALL students will be dismissed at 1:30 PM.

⚠️ There will be NO afterschool care or supervision available. All students must leave campus or be picked up promptly at 1:30 PM.

Please make transportation arrangements to ensure your student has a way home at dismissal.

👟🎨 Kicking Creativity Into Gear in Art 1! ✏️🔥

Our Art 1 students are putting their skills to work with a subject they know pretty well... their own shoes! 👟

Students are creating observational drawings while exploring line variation and value techniques to bring their artwork to life. From bold lines and tiny details to highlights, shadows, and shading, they’re learning how artists can turn an everyday object into something worth looking at twice. 👀✨

The talent is TALENTING in Art 1! 🎨👏 We can’t wait to see these pieces when they’re finished!

📚 A little Colonial America throwback! 🇺🇸

Students had a little fun putting their history knowledge to the test with a guessing game centered around Colonial economies and the people who helped shape them.

But there was a twist… 👀😂

Some of the pictures they were analyzing were actually reenactment photos from Mr. Sowell. Talk about digging into the archives! 📸😂

Students used clues from the clothing, setting, occupations, and activities in each photo to determine who was being portrayed and how that person connected to the different Colonial economies.

We love seeing our Phoenixes learning, thinking, laughing, and making connections along the way! 🔥
