11/27/2020

What a perfect day to wrap up our series and to give all the glory where it is due. The Lord provided a vision in the hearts of our founders and shepherded them as they launched LCCS fifteen years ago. He has faithfully sustained and grown the school even when it felt impossible. And He has continued to equip the community and show that He is mighty and at work in the hearts of our students, their families and our staff. What a joy that so many of us have had the opportunity to be a part of something so incredible and generous of our great God. He really is good. And we are truly grateful.

11/26/2020

Tonight we would like to give thanks for Kevin and Antoinette St. Germain. Kevin is our treasurer and Antoinette helps with sending out monthly tuition invoices. These two have done an amazing job with keeping our books in order. We are so very grateful for the wisdom and knowledge they bring to their position and the many countless hours they put into keeping LCCS on track with its finances. ❤️

11/25/2020

We are so incredibly grateful for each of our parents who volunteer to teach worship each week. What they are doing through song, scripture memory or even games sets the the tone for day and prepares each students’ heart to be ready to learn and to glorify God each day. What a beautiful opportunity for these kids and we couldn’t do it without the commitment from our worship teachers.

11/24/2020

We are giving thanks for two ladies who work diligently behind the scenes to publish the LCCS newspaper! Lee Bruner and Heather Scarano have an amazing team of students who gather information and write the content for the newspaper but these two ladies work just as hard pulling it all together and putting the finishing touches on the final draft. The newspaper not only shares what each pod has been up to that month but it also contains jokes, recipes, art, book reviews, and so much more! Both students and parents love reading the latest news at LCCS. Thank you ladies for all you do to make the newspaper possible!

Today we are thankful for this incredible act of kindness.... when the sweet toddler of one family dropped car keys down a drain, the heroic dad of another family who happened to be on carline duty that day jumped into action and rescued the keys with a metal coat hanger he found in his car. This is one tiny example of the love and service this community shares. Thank you Regan Elizabeth (Jared!) for stepping up and stepping in when you saw a need. ❤️

11/21/2020

Today we would like to show our appreciation for Daisy Boatwright. Daisy is our Field Trip Coordinator and does a great job planning fun filled outings throughout the year for our kids. Just today she took a group of kids and their families to explore Fort Sumter. Daisy, we are so grateful for the time you take to plan fun and educational field trips for our kiddos!

11/20/2020

Rain or shine, 95 degrees and humid or 45 degrees and windy you will find these four powerful moms each Thursday morning walking lap after lap around our building and praying for our school, our families, our community and our country. What a gift they are to us to diligently cover us in prayer and intercede on the behalf of others when it’s not just necessary but also just a blessing they can offer. These prayer warriors are a force to be reckoned with and we are incredibly grateful for them. ❤️

11/19/2020

Today we would like to show our appreciation for Dale Kukla! Not only does Dale serve as a member of the board but he also leads worship for the 3rd and 4th graders. Dale has also served as our PE teacher. He has the gift of teaching and engagement and is great at spiritually challenging the students. We are so grateful for how he leads our kids closer to the Lord and all the insight and leadership he brings to LCCS.

11/18/2020

Our third Board member that we want to highlight is Nathen Head. Nathen also is a devoted family man and a business owner. He has worked hard to bring new ideas to the table and uphold the values of our school at the same time. He is the definition of a servant leader. His work ethic combined with his sense of humor make him incredible addition to our leadership and we are grateful for his positive attitude, commitment to excellence and love for the Lord.

11/17/2020

Today we are giving thanks for Caleb Poston! We are so grateful for the countless hours that he has poured into our school and continues to do as a board member. We know that being a husband, father of five, and a business owner, doesn’t leave you much time for anything else but somehow Caleb continues to give of his time in serving the school. His spirit of discernment and wisdom are so valued by the families and the staff.

11/16/2020

Behind the scenes our Board is diligent in prayer, leadership and casting and following the vision of our school. Trey Truluck serves as our Chairman of the Board and leads us faithfully and always in pursuit of the Lord. We are so grateful for hours upon hours he has poured into the school.

11/15/2020

Today we recognize and express our gratitude for an incredible servant leader, mother of four and our lead “mom on duty” Moira Meagher Kukla. She’s a prayer warrior like no other, an incredible listening ear, an encourager and a solution finder. She loves to worship and have a great time. She’s a breath of fresh air to us all. We sure are grateful for the contribution she makes to our small community. ❤️

11/12/2020

Today to Jenn Howe Hill! If you know Jenn, you love her! As a new mom to the school last year, she jumped right into serving by blessing us with her amazing food at gatherings and continues to do so. She is always willing to drop whatever she has going on to lend a helping hand. This year Jenn took on the service job of Fundraiser Coordinator and has done an exceptional job with our first ever Wreath Fundraiser. When Jenn takes on a job, she puts her whole heart into it and does it with so much grace. We are so very grateful for Jenn and all her love that she pours into LCCS! ❤️

11/12/2020

All of us at LCCS would like to take this chance to express our deepest gratitude for all of the Veterans who are serving or have served in our nation’s military. You and your families are true heroes and we pray God’s protection over you. ❤️🤍💙

11/11/2020

Today we are giving thanks for our very own Danielle Brannon Lowell. She thought since she ran this page that she could fly under the radar but I (Stephanie) wasn’t going to let that happen! Danielle not only runs this page to keep families informed of all that is going on with LCCS but is involved in so many other ways! She wears so many hats that I will probably miss some. Here are just a few of her roles that we are so grateful that she has taken on: Admissions Coordinator, Uniform Chairman, Service Job Co-Chairman, and last but not least Father-Daughter Dance Co-chairman. All of these jobs take a great amount of her personal time but she does it all without complaint and so much grace! There is not a job title for this but Danielle is always looking for ways to improve the school and puts those ideas into action. Danielle, we are so grateful for all the love, support and time you give to LCCS. We don’t know what we would do without you! ❤️

Today’s goes to our very own Juliana Head. She wears MANY hats here at LCCS and is forever encouraging and loving on us all. Just this past weekend she organized and fabulous Community Meeting which gave the parents some much needed, uninterrupted time to fellowship and eat a delicious catered dinner. She’s responsible for all of our social events, organizes our special monthly pizza lunches, helps with recruiting, classroom parties, special projects for teachers and most importantly she is the co-chairman of our annual Father Daughter Dance. She selflessly serves and puts her whole heart and soul into all she does. LCCS is beyond thankful for Juliana. ❤️

for Mrs. Aban today. She is a vital part of our school administration as well as a gifted teacher. One of our very own moms to three students says it best! Thanks for sharing Heather Medcalf Scarano! ❤️

Mrs. Aban is a very caring, kind and helpful teacher. Mrs. Aban finds creative, fun and engaging ways to teach math to the younger grades. And for the older students, she does activities that involve treats and food - which they love! She does a great job preparing the middle schoolers for tests as well. She loves to have fun with the students, but also has a great handle on the classroom and knows when to be serious. She is very patient and gentle with all of the children. She plays many roles for the school beyond teaching- using her talents to manage the school operations. Her influence and relationships in the community have also led her to recruit many of the teachers and families at the school. We love Mrs. Aban! ❤️

11/08/2020

We are giving thanks for Mrs. Mandy Aban today and this is coming straight from the heart of one of our new moms.

Growing up I never new what an amazing teacher was. That might have been from my upbringing, the school I attended or the trouble I got into. However with the Abans, the teachers that come out of that household ignite a fire within you and the desire for knowledge, curiosity and wisdom. So when Mrs A (Mandy) became a part of the Aban family and its neverending circle of kind, generous, loving public servants, I was not surprised. You have some teachers who tell you something and may even explain it. Those I would consider managers. Then you have teachers who inspire, who are like a candles flame that we all want to draw close to. Mrs. A is a leader and just like any other great leaders that I have known, her students will follow her like the moth to the flame. - Tami Driggers

11/07/2020

for another incredible teacher. ❤️❤️❤️
We are so thankful for Mrs. Coman! Her experience as a teacher and love for all of the children, combine beautifully to make her one of the most gifted teachers I’ve ever met! We have been amazed at her vision for the school as a whole, yet she is so attune to each and every student, and each of their individual needs. She is beautiful inside and out, and her love for the Lord is tangible in the way she loves each of us, her fellow teachers, and each of our children! We are beyond grateful for Mrs. Coman at LCCS!!
-Lindsay McElveen

11/06/2020

Today’s is straight from the heart of one of our new moms. Thanks for sharing Laurel Prichard Inabinet!

We are so thankful for Mrs. Kath! Being new to LCCS this year, we have had a little learning curve with the new (and awesome) math curriculum. My 1st-born, super-smart 2nd grader is used to being good at most things, so struggling with math was a new experience for us. Mrs. Kath has been such an encouragement to my daughter and spent extra time working with her to help her get the hang of it. She sent home encouraging notes to me and my daughter. She knew just how to push and praise her! We couldn't be more thankful for Mrs. Kath and her love for all the kids at LCCS. ❤ -Laurel Inabinet

11/05/2020

Today we are giving thanks for one of our amazing teachers, Mrs. Debra Braun! She has such a sweet spirit and brings so much joy to her classroom. Not only does she teach science, history, geography, and language arts but she also shares her creative side by teaching art after school. Both students and parents adore her! She is one of a kind and we are so thankful to have her at LCCS!

11/04/2020

Natalie Gresh is our hero of a Kindergarten teacher. Her teaching philosophy is “learn by play” and she is is always coming up with new games and activities to keep these kiddos engaged and challenged. Every day in Kindergarten with Mrs. Gresh is a great day! She is loved dearly by both the students AND the parents. We are beyond grateful to have her in our community. ❤️

11/02/2020

Today we are giving thanks for a couple of our founding families who are still actively involved at LCCS. We are so thankful to the Niemers and Comans for being obedient to the Lord’s calling to establish a school in the Lowcountry where children would not only receive an excellent education but would also grow spiritually and learn life lessons. Over the past fifteen years, it has not necessarily been an easy road but the Niemers and Comans have stayed committed to this calling and we are so thankful for their dedication to the school. Rhonda Coman is still teaching at LCCS and is well loved by all the students and parents. Sally and Greg Niemer are mentors at LCCS and bring a wealth of knowledge to our families. We could not thank these families enough for all they have done over the years to cultivate an amazing school that we love so much!

11/02/2020

To kick off our series for the month of November we would be remiss to not first show our gratitude to Cokesbury United Methodist Church for generously providing a building for our beloved school for over 10 years now. The pastors and staff have always loved us well and been a large part of community and family. We are truly grateful for such a wonderful church that has been incredibly accepting and accommodating to LCCS. ❤️
