Advice for the new year: always carry in a holster that covers the trigger and your firearm fits securely.

Constitutional carry is now the law in Ohio. However, while not required, fi****ms training and practice is important to being a responsible gun owner.

A clean gun functions better and is less likely to malfunction.

Cleaning will make you more comfortable with your firearm.

Over the next few days I'm going to talk about why and how to clean your firearm.

Tip # 9: Wear ear and eye protection to avoid injury.

Tip #8: Always know your target and what is beyond.

Tip #7 Always keep your finger off the trigger until ready to shoot.

Tip 6: Always keep firearm unloaded until you are ready to use it.

Tip 5. Always keep ammunition and fi****ms locked separately.

Tip #4 Always be sure your firearm is safe to operate. Look for unusual wear on parts, any obstructions in barrel and ensure it is clean / properly lubricated.
