Big week at Stark State College. Leading into Memorial Day, we were thrilled to welcome The Eyes of Freedom exhibit to campus. The Eyes of Freedom is a traveling memorial dedicated to honoring the service and sacrifice of all who answer our Nation's call.

Yesterday the Monday, Wednesday, Friday Firefighter 1&2 class were doing ladder evolutions on our 75' Aerial. Cadet Sam Robinson was at the top, with Instructor Isaac Hull backing him up, as a U.S. Navy jet flew by! Perfect timing on such a beautiful Ohio day!

Spring 2026 classes begin tomorrow, Monday, January 12, 2026.

If you are taking a Web 2, 3, 4V, or 4X class, you will need to be sure you've completed Succeeding Online. You'll know you completed it, if you check your Awards tab and you see a badge (see the image below).

Last night, Amazon Web Services was fully restored and all systems in Brightspace were restored.

We are still seeing issues with Amazon Web Services. We will continue to track the outage and update when we know more.

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is currently experiencing issues. Because Brightspace runs on AWS, you may notice slower performance than usual.

Brightspace is still online, and AWS is working to fix things. We’ll let you know when everything’s back to normal.
