This summer our study abroad program will be in Kigali, Rwanda.
You have always wanted to travel to Africa? well, this is a great opportunity for you as a student at Kent State University to take advantage of.
The Costs;
1- Kent state tuition for 6 credit hours depending on which courses are selected
2- Program estimated charges of approximately $4,550 - $5,100 and will cover group flight, housing, medical insurance, and program costs (costs may vary slightly based on exchange rate)
3- Additional out-of-pocket expenses include meals, social activities, optional field trips, personal expenses

🟡Sustainable Gardening for Poverty Reduction, Cultural Preservation, and Economic Inclusion 🇲🇽
This course will cover three primary subject areas: environmental studies; business (economics and entrepreneurship); global studies. Themes will be discussed in the context of indigenous and immigrant communities from Mexico City, Mexico. Through field experiences in Mexico, students will explore how stakeholder communities use urban gardening as a source of economic inclusion, cultural preservation, and indigenous farming.

🔵Peacebuilding in Colombia Collaborative 🇨🇴
Colombia recently ended one of the world’s longest wars by negotiating the world’s most inclusive peace agreement, which addresses gender, race, and sexuality. These provisions were controversial and Colombians voted against the first version of the accord. Learn about the conflict, the peace process, and ongoing struggles to implement the accords, with a focus on inclusive peace measures. This course is a collaboration with the Universidad del Rosario and is led by Sara Koopman, an assistant professor of peace and conflict studies.
