Center – (Environment, Agriculture, Research, Teaching, Health)
The E.A.R.T.H. Center, is home to Middlesex County’s office of Rutgers Cooperative Extension. Located in Davidson’s Mill Pond Park the cooperative county and state entity provides University outreach to the public and serves as a showcase of environmental stewardship with demonstration and trial gardens intended to educate homeowners,
landscapers, and local farmers. Using minimal chemical inputs, conserving water, and reducing stormwater runoff are the focus of many exhibits. The Agriculture & Natural Resource Management Department is aided in this goal by the efforts of the Rutgers Master Gardener volunteers. Our demonstration gardens can turn a walk in the park into a learning experience for visitors during normal daylight park hours. However, for a detailed tour of these horticultural displays, interested parties should contact the EARTH Center for guided tours on the days listed. Custom tours can also be tailored to focus on specific areas of interest.
