Ways to connect with us: We welcome farm volunteers M-F on the farm. Spend a day with our organic farm team and help cultivate delicious, healthy local produce. We offer Community Supported Agriculture (CSA - weekly veggie box program) including an Autumn Bounty CSA. Purchasing a CSA goes a long way to help support WEI in this uncertain time for our organization. Take a class! From growing peaches to green burials, we offer a range of classes designed to build skills and community. https://w-e-i.org

It's Minnesota peach season! These photos show the first ripe peaches at Dan Sheild's farm in Taylors Falls. Coming up on Saturday, August 8, WEI is lucky to have Dan teaching a class all about growing peaches and other stone fruit. Class includes time at WEI, and then a hands-on tour of Dan's farm. Join us to learn all you need to know to grow peaches and other stone fruit yourself. Register soon! https://www.w-e-i.org/event/peaches/

From Dan: "Let the party begin! Harrow Diamond is the first Peach to be ready here at the farm, yesterday I picked the first 11 pounds! These peaches are sweet and slightly tangy and the skin comes off easy on these freestones if you want to process them but are great for fresh eating."

EDIT: Due to the grief of Karen’s passing, we are postponing the Will Allen event to spring 2027. We are still in planning and if you or your organization would like to be part of the event, please email [email protected]

In honor of Karen Clark and WEI’s enduring partnership with farmer-mentor Will Allen, WEI will host the 16th Annual Will Allen Farmer Training Weekend this September. Please save the dates for September 26th & 27th. We'll host the event as usual at WEI's Amador Hill Farm & Orchard just outside North Branch MN.

Right now, we seek people to help put on the event. do you feel moved to help us make this an event Karen would be proud of? Contact Alma to be involved: [email protected].
We are in need of instructors, volunteer event managers, and funding to bring youth from the metro to the farm. Email Alma with your interest!

Thank you all for the continued outpouring of love and support. As soon as we have details for Karen's celebration of life we will let you know. Right now, organizers are aiming for early fall. In the meantime, we remain committed to WEI programming and mission. One of the most meaningful ways you can support us right now is signing up for one of our classes and purchasing an Autumn Bounty CSA (weekly produce box subscription). Truly, we could really use your support in both our CSA and education program right now. Many, many thanks!
