I have a story to share. There are ALWAYS stories when the littles are involved.
The birthday boy got a cute little dinosaur track from me today. Opening it we saw it required a lot of assembly. (I should have checked last night) so we asked Mr. Randy for help. Well, we actually asked him to put the track together for us.
With instructions the size of a rice kernel and fifty loose parts, he got to work. The birthday boy “helped”, too excited to keep his hands out of the project. Mr. Randy explained things so patiently and worked on, finally applying the last sticker. It was not a quick job. Batteries were added. Everything worked.
The anticipation was great, and then…the dinosaurs which were supposed to go up the stairs of the track, which is the whole point of the toy, were nowhere to be found. They had been on the table but by the time we needed them, they had disappeared into thin air (with a little help I imagine.) where they reside to this moment. They may show up one day. They may not. But until they do our little birthday boy has a truck with no extra parts instead of a dinosaur track, which I think he likes better anyway. And he was able to spend time with his Mr. Randy creating. Sometimes even mistakes are still wins.

We invented a new game quite by accident today. Maybe others have already discovered this but if not, I recommend it.
Over break I got an inexpensive (five dollars on clearance) key finder and threw it in my purse. The little one here found the remote for it on the counter and pushed the button. Listening close she found the tag in my purse (with my permission and help of course) and the game was on. Hiding and finding a key tag!
We have spent the last hour hiding and finding the key tag, laughing nonstop. We even pulled Mr. Randy into the fun. (“No more tricks, Mr. Randy!” when Randy hid it in her sweatshirt hood.) If she thinks she hid it somewhere too tricky she tells us where it is before we look. It has been absolutely delightful.

She was working on her sewing project when she came to me, worried, sad. “Bobbie, it’s too afraid to sew.”
It took me a minute. Earlier I had fixed the end of her yarn by trimming it because it was too frayed to sew with.
I love these littles so much!
