Q: ...now, how do I apologize. What do I say to two of my friends, because they are very disappointed in me?
A: It depends on what was said, how it was said, why you said it... and the friends themselves. There is no generic answer, and people who believe there is, dig the hole deeper.
You also need to consider if an apology is necessary. We often apologize for moving closer to who we are, and where we want to be, when it does not align with someone else. And, for that, maybe an explanation is a better choice.
