Exciting summer experience for Connor Satkus ‘29, who attended an intensive week-long guitar program at Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA. Connor gained hands-on performance training across diverse contemporary genres from renowned faculty and Grammy Award-winning artists. He concluded the program with a solo performance at the Berklee Performance Center. We can’t wait to hear Connor play on campus this fall! Berklee College of Music

Georgetown Prep's Dream No Borders summer English enrichment program celebrated its annual International Dinner, the program ended its 2026 session last week. Summer students went to different homes in the community to cook traditional dishes from their countries. They then shared their dishes with the entire program at this formal event. It is a beautiful annual celebration of growth, community, friendships, and food! Everyone present celebrated the diverse cultures of our program. Thank you to Ms. Rosita Whitman and her dedicated staff and counselors for a memorable summer.

Students traveled to Montana for an immersion experience on the Flathead Reservation, partnering with the Jesuit community at Saint Ignatius Mission. Through service, conversations with members of the Salish community, and time spent in the region’s natural beauty, they gained a deeper understanding of Native American history, culture, and environmental stewardship.

From the birthplace of St. Ignatius in Loyola to Barcelona, Georgetown Prep educators recently walked the Camino Ignaciano (Ignatian Way)—a 10-day pilgrimage across Spain that follows in the footsteps of the founder of the Jesuits.

Residential Dean and Dorm Parent Joe Harkins ‘96, his wife Melissa Harkins, and social studies teacher and dorm parent Brandon Rothenberg joined educators from Jesuit schools across North America for this transformative journey of faith, reflection, and fellowship.

As Joe shared, “The experience transformed my appreciation for St. Ignatius, Jesuit spirituality, and the mission of Jesuit education. I came back to campus with a renewed sense of gratitude for the work we do at Prep and a deeper conviction about the importance of Ignatian spirituality and the impact it can have in all of our lives.”

Today is the Feast Day of St. Ignatius of Loyola. As we honor his life, the founder of the Society of Jesus, we are reminded that his legacy lives on today at Georgetown Prep, carried forward in how we teach and form our students each day. We pray in the words of Rev. Pedro Arrupe, S.J. (Superior General 1965–1983):

In the Hands of God

More than ever I find myself in the hands of God.
This is what I have wanted all my life from my youth.

But now there is a difference;
the initiative is entirely with God.

It is indeed a profound spiritual experience
to know and feel myself so totally in God's hands.
