Hundreds of innocent dreams were shattered in a single moment…

May Allah grant the highest ranks of Jannah to the innocent students, teachers—our sister Maherin Chowdhury—and pilot brother Towkir Islam who lost their lives in the tragic Bangladesh Air Jet crash on Milestone School and College. May He give their families the strength and patience to bear this immense tragedy. This is not just an accident but heartbreaking news that has cut short hundreds of dreams and deeply shaken all of us.

Such operations must always be carried out with the utmost care, using proper aircraft and away from densely populated areas. Yet, we know that nothing happens outside Allah’s plan. He alone knows when, where, and how events unfold. As believers, we trust His wisdom and accept His decree.

We pray for our younger brothers and sisters—the bright future of our nation, the dreamers who could have changed the world. May Allah protect us all from such devastating accidents, grant peace to the departed souls, and prevent such tragedies from ever happening again. Ameen.

In the Bangladeshi education system, it is essential to reform existing rules and norms to support students facing extraordinary circumstances such as severe illness, the death of a parent, or similar crises. In such cases, students should be allowed to take missed subject exam(s) immediately after the regular exam period or on weekends, ensuring they do not lose an academic year or fall behind in their studies.

Additionally, in these situations, if students can arrive within 30 minutes of the exam starting time—but not later—they should still be allowed to take the exam and be given a seat without penalty. However, if students arrive after 30 minutes and miss the exam entirely, exam authorities should handle the situation compassionately by reassuring the student that they will have the opportunity to retake the exam later, so they do not need to worry about falling behind.

To ensure fairness, students must submit an official written application along with supporting documents to their school or examination board as soon as possible—ideally before the end of the exam period. These provisions must only be used for authentic and verifiable reasons, and students should not misuse them intentionally.

These compassionate measures should apply to all national examinations, including JSC, SSC, HSC, and equivalent assessments, as well as higher education exams.

Ultimately, education policies must acknowledge that exams are not more important than a student’s life and well-being. Prioritizing flexibility during times of hardship will help build a more humane and supportive education system.

Welcome to Drachenfels, Germany. 🇩🇪

Let’s explore its brief history:

Drachenfels Castle, meaning “Dragon’s Rock,” is a historic site near Königswinter, overlooking the beautiful Rhine River. Built around 1138, the castle was designed to protect the region and control river trade. It’s famously linked to the legend of Siegfried, the dragon slayer from the “Nibelungenlied.” Over time, the castle faced many attacks, especially during the Thirty Years’ War, and by the 17th century, it had fallen into ruin. Today, visitors can walk through its remains and enjoy stunning views of the Rhine Valley. A modern railway also takes visitors to the top of Drachenfels Mountain, where legend and landscape come together.
