Yesterday, Student Council members read to Kinders! Today was a STEM trade day in Kindergarten. Check out the “Big, Bad, Wolf (aka hair dryer) blowing structures down!

PTA-Sponsored Movie Night this Friday, June 2nd, at Hillcrest at 6pm. School-appropriate PJs allowed. Free admission and free popcorn! Come enjoy our new projection/sound system.

This group of fourth and fifth graders ran their hearts out today - the very last day of Marathon Madness at Hillcrest. Persistence. Determination. Focus.

It is the last day of our movie-themed Teacher Appreciation Week at Hillcrest tomorrow. Students can wear baseball or softball hats in the building (as long as they are being respectful)! One day only!

Spring into Kindergarten is tonight at Hillcrest from 4:30-6:30pm. This event is for incoming Kinders (for the 2023-2024 school year) and their families! Join us. Spread the word!

Students had GREAT fun today while helping their teachers crack codes and identify Disney films by song! Tomorrow - we are literally finding Nemo(s). There are 20 “hidden/swimming” around Hillcrest. Students can wear their teacher’s favorite color tomorrow as Hillcrest celebrates teachers! Need a teacher’s favorite color? Just ask in comments!

As of 12:45pm, Hillcrest is no longer in SECURE. Our SRO has deemed our area to be safe. It is business as usual inside the building and students are now able to head outdoors for recess.

Around 11:30 am today, Hillcrest Elementary was put into SECURE mode. There was a person of concern in the area and the School Resource Officer requested the building be put into SECURE.

SECURE means the outside doors are locked, the students have all returned to inside the building, but the school is going about its normal day. Students are having lunch in the cafeteria. Recess is indoors. Everyone is still able to move around inside the building.

The safety and security of the staff and students is our highest priority. The School Resource Officer and Superintendent are on site and we will continue to send updates, as needed.

Our “movie feature” tomorrow as part of Teacher Appreciation Week is Jumanji! Students can wear something with an animal on it or animal print to show support for Hillcrest’s amazing teachers. Also , adults - you get to participate too - look for an email tied to “Meet the Parents”!
