North Barrington Elementary School

North Barrington Elementary School North Barrington Elementary is one of eight elementary schools in the Barrington 220 School District, serving grades K-5. The school mascot is the C**t.

The original North Barrington Elementary School opened in 1946, consolidating five one-room schoolhouses in the area. At the time of the school’s dedication, it was heralded as a “school for the motor age” because of special design features that accommodated students arriving by car and bus. Fifty years later, voters approved a referendum to rebuild North Barrington at the same site. The new NBS opened to students in 1998.
