“I love the idea of mentorship, but as a mom, I want to be my daughter’s mentor—her safe place she can always go to for help.”
I loved this comment from a mentor mom who stopped by my booth last week at my first Teach Them Diligently Christian Homeschooling Conference in Pigeon Forge.
Mentoring our own kids is always the goal, but remember this: it is no reflection on you as a parent if your kids don’t come to you first.
I think God knew young people would need outside perspective and encouragement during those years when teens sometimes see mom and dad as “the enemies.” And this is where the body of Christ comes in.
If your daughter is one who just won’t open up and talk about her struggles, know this is more normal than you may think.
Pray for God to bring a Bible-believing mentor into her life—someone who will speak truth over her and will pray her forward.
It takes a village. More importantly, it takes a church.

What a joy to host a booth at Teach Them Diligently!
I was so impressed with this beautiful conference gathering Christian homeschoolers from all over the southeast!
I was number 10 on the waitlist for quite some time but had such a peace that I would be there. Ask, seek, knock—I was so grateful when the door finally opened!
I was so touched by the excitement from girls when they saw my book at this conference 🥹 So many beautiful new connections with homeschool moms who will be starting More Precious Than Pearls with their girls!
Thank you for having me, TTD!
Wondering what “The MentHer Collective” is all about?!
“TMC” (as we call it) is our fully virtual online community for moms, mentors, women in ministry—really anyone who feels called to lead and disciple the next generation!
Hint: we’re all called to disciple, so that might just mean you! 😉😆
We meet twice a month to hear from a guest speaker who shares an encouraging message on the month’s topic and to fellowship, reflect, and pray.
In June, Dr. Gary Thomas (bestselling author of Sacred Search, Sacred Marriage, and many others) will be joining us!
And in July, Dr. Joe Malone, known was the “s3xual integrity scientist” will be speaking on purity and self-control—he brilliantly shares the science behind girls’ struggles in this area from a biblical perspective.
Mentors need mentors too—join us any time! Link is in bio or visit our website and click “mentors” —> The MentHer Collective!

I sometimes feel convicted about my high school and college years…
I know God uses all things for good, but I’ll be honest:
In high school, I obsessed over achievement. I was involved in way too much, leaving little time for rest and intentional time with Jesus.
I was caught up in “appearances” and winning—leading to unhealthy perfectionism that ended up affecting my health.
Then, in college, my pendulum swung in the opposite direction and I became obsessed with having fun.
I actually became a “club promoter” and was out with friends most nights of the week (and weekend).
I was doing a LOT of things that did not matter…that had no Kingdom impact. In fact, were actually hurting me.
Sometimes I think about the impact my ministry could have made by now had I started in my early 20s when I was wasting time on fitting in and worrying about what everyone else was doing.
Don’t make the same mistakes—bring your schedule to God and ask Him what REALLY matters.
I promise He’ll make it clear.

Want to know the truth about “hookup culture?”
Culture tells girls that “everyone is hooking up” and loving it.
The research says otherwise.
A 2017 Harvard University study of more than 3,000 young adults and HS girls found that most are actually OVERestimating how many others are “hooking up” — and 85% said they would prefer other forms of connection over casual hookups.
Additional college studies found that many young women later had regret, negative emotions, or discomfort after hookup experiences, despite the way hookup culture is often glamorized.
Why does this matter? What do I want girls to know?✨ You are not strange for wanting commitment.✨ You are not missing out for having standards.✨ You are not alone in desiring love, respect, and deeper connection.
The loudest voices in culture are not always the majority.
Research referenced is from Dr. Joe Malone’s article “What Do Women Really Want?” published in Faith & Fitness Magazine and findings from Harvard University studies.

I am so excited to announce our May guest speaker inside The MentHer Collective! 👯♀️
This month, we’re welcoming Dr. Alli Karlik, PT, DPT, OCS—co-founder of The Hope Docs PT clinic in Anchorage, Alaska, alongside her husband, Dr. Jeff Karlik.
Dr. Alli is passionate about helping people experience true healing—not just physically, but holistically. Through her work, she integrates the body, mind, and spirit, reminding us that God designed our bodies with incredible intention and capacity to heal.
Her approach to biblical wellness is something every mentor can learn from, and I know you’ll be inspired by her teaching on May 13th!
Dr. Karlik will be sharing with us how to:
• steward our bodies well
• understand healing through a biblical lens
• and bring a more holistic perspective into our mentoring relationships
You don’t want to miss this one! 🏋🏼♀️🍎
Join The MentHer Collective before Dr. Alli speaks on May 13th! Link in bio to join TMC!
Last week, I asked my breakout room: “How many people have a mentor?”
And of the ~25 adults in the room, 0 people raised their hand.
It made me wonder—what would our world look like if each of us had a mentor pouring into us?
💡Someone to bounce ideas off.
💡A sounding board.
💡Someone to process life with—privately, not publicly
💡Someone to pray with us and help guide us.
I think our world would look pretty different.
Because you can’t pour out what’s not pouring in.
So how do you find one? “Ask, seek, and knock.” -Matthew 7:7
I believe God will honor it. Because I know for a fact—He doesn’t want you doing life alone.

I created More Precious Than Pearls to guide young women in identity, confidence, faith, relationships, and the real-life challenges they’re already navigating, but often without enough biblical support.
Whether you’re a mom, mentor, aunt, grandmother, or family friend, this is a meaningful gift for the girl in your life.
In fact, the PERFECT gift for graduating girls this school year!
Rather than more content, let’s give them wisdom, truth, and women willing to pour into them.
