Cheshire Hill Farm
Our lesson program focuses on teaching horsemanship and a balanced seat to ride in any discipline. We start lessons ages 4 to young adult.
We also offer camps and activities throughout the year geared towards horsemanship and riding.
It why I always tell my students “Sit tall- stretch up, stretch it down. Chest up, stretch it out. Relax the shoulders and breathe.”
I talk in muscle groups as best as I can rather than “heels down, shoulders back” because those two things alone can mean something different with each person.

I’ve spent this week working to get things ready for camp this next week.
With some of our machinery down, the arena and driveway looks a little rough (personally). That’s ok— it’s going to work out somehow between now and Sunday. I’m sure of it.
I repaired two gates this week. Friends and boarders are gracious enough to assist us with our new picnic area and some other projects this week. Students have also helped us get things ready. 🙏🥰
My parents, as always, help where they’re able to— we appreciate them so much!! 🥰
We still have so much to do… but for now, here’s what’s going on this past week so far here and other places:
Phantom is a talented cat. 🐈 He cracks me up with his antics. 😂

This week made the farm sooo muddy! Every lesson planned was rearranged at the last minute earlier this week. Today we finally had a small window of opportunity for lessons! I didn’t get a picture of everyone today, unfortunately.
We gave Mia her first halter for her horse. 💕☺️ She was so excited to try it on him!! Unfortunately I didn’t get a picture of that, either. 🤦♀️ However I did try to get a picture of her and Aurora giving Diesel love and attention. Mia loves that pony!!
All my boarders came out to see their horses, giving them love and attention even though the weather is dodgy. They even helped around the farm. I appreciate their help with chores when they come out.

Some progress this weekend despite the rain. 🌧️
We didn’t have lessons since its Memorial Day weekend. This gave us time to work on things around the farm (and get house chores done).
The rainbow this evening was beautiful!! My pictures don’t do it justice.

I need one, possibly two, more sheds built and the newly cleared area fenced in…
Aside from that, we have progress! Started to build our new coop/ poultry run yesterday.
Today we moved Hippona back with the herd after spending a week in recovery for an injury.
I was worried about the impending storms, so I move Diesel into the Ravine Paddock so he could have a shelter. I worry about Brontës, though— he’s currently the only paddock without a shelter.
