๐Ÿ“š๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿ’› THANK YOU FOR AN AMAZING FALL BOOK FAIR! ๐Ÿ’›๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿ“š

What an incredible 8 days! Our Fall Scholastic Book Fair was filled with excited readers, happy faces, great books, and countless moments that helped strengthen our studentsโ€™ love of reading. ๐Ÿ“–โœจ๐Ÿฌ

A heartfelt THANK YOU to our North Augusta Elementary families and community for supporting our Book Fair. Your support helps our library continue providing wonderful books and reading opportunities for our Dolphins! ๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿ’›

๐ŸŒŸ To our fabulous parent volunteersโ€”we are incredibly grateful for EACH of you! ๐ŸŒŸ

Whether you volunteered for a few hours, a day, or several days, every minute you gave made a difference. You helped students find books, assisted with purchases, answered questions, organized shelves, and helped keep eight very busy days running smoothly. We simply could not have done it without you! ๐Ÿ’™

We would also like to recognize our NAUE PTO President, Lisa Takashima-Haggerty, for an extraordinary commitment of time throughout the Fair. Lisa was with us every day, all day, working alongside our volunteers and helping ensure that our students had the best Book Fair experience possible. Lisa, thank you for your incredible dedication and support! ๐Ÿ’

It truly takes a village, and every person who gave their time, supported the Fair, purchased a book, or encouraged a young reader helped make these eight days a success.

๐Ÿ“š So many books. So many smiles. A stronger love of reading!

Thank you, Dolphin Family! Keep reading, Dolphins! ๐Ÿฌ๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿ’›

Investing in Our Students. Supporting Our Schools. Building Possibilities.

We are incredibly grateful to SRP Federal Credit Union for investing in the future of our elementary students and educators through its new Investing in Education: Unlimited Possibilities initiative.

At the kickoff event held at the WOW! Club at, SRP Park in North Augusta, SRP Federal Credit Union announced that 83 schools across 10 CSRA counties will each receive $2,500 representing a remarkable $207,500 total investment in local elementary education.

This generous support gives our principals the flexibility to respond to the unique needs of their schools โ€” whether that means providing instructional resources, creating hands-on learning experiences, supporting teachers, or offering enriching opportunities for students.

โ€œThis investment empowers our principals to respond directly to the unique needs of their schools and create meaningful opportunities through instructional resources, hands-on learning, and enrichment experiences," Dr. Charlene Heard, Assistant Superintendent of Elementary Schools said.

Partnerships like this remind us what is possible when our schools and community come together with a shared commitment to student success. We are proud to have SRP Federal Credit Union investing alongside us and helping create unlimited possibilities for our students!

โž—โœจ Hands-On Math in Third Grade! โœจโž—

Ms. McGurkโ€™s third-grade mathematicians were busy learning by doing! ๐Ÿง ๐Ÿ™Œ Students were introduced to the distributive property using tiles to build, break apart, and explore multiplication problems.

By using hands-on manipulatives, students could see how larger arrays can be divided into smaller, easier-to-solve groupsโ€”helping make an important math concept meaningful and concrete. ๐Ÿ”ข๐ŸŸฆ๐ŸŸจ

We love seeing our Dolphins explore, problem-solve, and build their mathematical thinking one tile at a time! ๐Ÿฌ๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿ’›

๐Ÿฌ๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿ’› Dolphin Treasures is OPEN! ๐Ÿ’›๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿฌ

We are in full swing with the opening of our school-wide store, Dolphin Treasures! ๐ŸŽ‰๐Ÿ›๏ธ

Throughout the school day, our Dolphins have opportunities to earn points by demonstrating positive behavior, making responsible choices, and showing leadership. Those hard-earned points can then be spent at Dolphin Treasures on some exciting rewards! โญ

Making the store even more special are our amazing fifth-grade Student Ambassadors! These students have been selected because they demonstrate leadership, responsibility, and excellent behavior, and they are doing a fantastic job helping our younger Dolphins shop and enjoy the experience. ๐Ÿฌ๐Ÿ‘

Our first graders were excited to visit the store, check their points, make their selections, and practice making thoughtful choices about how to spend what they have earned! ๐Ÿ›’โœจ

Dolphin Treasures is more than a storeโ€”it is another fun way to recognize positive choices, encourage leadership, and celebrate our students' success!

Way to go, Dolphins! Keep earning, leading, and making great choices! ๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿ’›๐Ÿฌ

๐ŸŽถ Our fourth-grade students enjoyed an exciting musical field trip to Carnegie Hallโ€™s Link Up concert today! They experienced the power and beauty of live music performed by the Aiken Philharmonic Orchestra and enthusiastically sang along with โ€œCome to Play,โ€ โ€œWe Shall Not Be Moved,โ€ and Jim Papoulisโ€™s โ€œOyeโ€โ€”a song inspired by children in Mexico asking the world to listen to their voices.

Students also expanded their musical knowledge by seeing and hearing the orchestraโ€™s four instrument families: strings, woodwinds, brass, and percussion. A special highlight was watching three Aiken County Public School District music teachers perform on recorder with the orchestra during Beethovenโ€™s โ€œOde to Joyโ€ and music from Dvoล™รกkโ€™s New World Symphony. Students were also thrilled to see a ballet dancer perform to the powerful finale of Stravinskyโ€™s Firebird Suite!

It was a wonderful opportunity for our students to connect what they have learned in music class with a live orchestral performance! ๐ŸŽป๐ŸŽบ๐Ÿชˆ๐Ÿฅ๐Ÿฉฐ๐ŸŽต

๐Ÿ“š๐Ÿ’™ A Special Morning for Our Third-Grade Readers! ๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿ“š

What an exciting morning at North Augusta Elementary! ๐Ÿฌ Our third graders had the wonderful opportunity to visit the Scholastic Book Fair and choose books of their very own through the Diana Floyd โ€œMy Own Bookโ€ Program!

Made possible through Public Education Partners of Aiken County (PEP) and generous community sponsors, the program provides each of the districtโ€™s 1,742 third-grade students with a $15 Book Fair voucher to select books they want to read and take home to keep. ๐Ÿ“–โค๏ธ

The smiles said it all as our Dolphins browsed, compared books, discovered new favorites, and proudly showed off their selections! Giving students the opportunity to choose their own books helps make reading personal, meaningful, and exciting.

The program honors the memory of Diana Floyd, a past Chairperson of PEP, and is now in its fourth year. It has already helped place an estimated 5,000+ books into student households while supporting school libraries.

๐ŸŒŸ We are incredibly grateful to PEP, Meta, The Charitable Foundation of Aiken, Community Foundation of CSRA, and ALL of the generous sponsors who made today's experience possible.

Because of you, our students left the Book Fair this morning with more than booksโ€”they left with stories they chose, books they can call their own, and excitement about what they will read next!

From the students and teachers of North Augusta Elementary Schoolโ€”THANK YOU for investing in our young readers! ๐Ÿ“š๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿฌ

โšก๐Ÿ”ฌ Science was ELECTRIC in Ms. McGurkโ€™s third-grade classes! ๐Ÿ”ฌโšก

Our young scientists had an exciting time experimenting with conductors and insulators! Students tested different objects to discover which materials allow electricity to flow and which materials stop it.

Through hands-on investigation, teamwork, and plenty of scientific thinking, students made predictions, tested their ideas, and classified objects based on their results. ๐Ÿ’ก๐Ÿงช

We love seeing our Dolphins learn through discovery and turn curiosity into understanding! ๐Ÿฌ๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿ’›
