Last night's Open House at Brayton Elementary School was a fantastic reminder of just how special our school community is! Families filled the halls and classrooms buzzed with excitement!

A huge thank you to all the families who came out to connect with teachers, explore the classrooms, and be part of the Brayton community. Nights like these truly show what makes our school special — the partnership between home and school that helps every child thrive.

Thank you to our incredible teachers and staff for preparing such welcoming classrooms and for all you do every day for our students!

We can't wait to see students fill our halls again next week!

Another great school year has just begun for our NAPS faculty and staff! We gathered this morning for our annual District Convocation to not only hear updates for the new year but turn our focus to our students. Dr. Callahan shared an inspirational video featuring the thoughts, recommendations, and wisdom of 17 NAPS students -- from kindergarteners to this year's Drury seniors. Our students are an inspiration and we can't wait to welcome them back next week!

Our second annual Summer Learning Institute was one of the most inspirational parts of the summer! This August, we offered more than 10 professional development workshops and covered topics from syntax to ceramics. All of our workshops were led by current or former NAPS staff, leveraging the teaching expertise we have right here in the district. Our staff is coming back to school this week with fresh ideas and ready for a great year ahead!

Yesterday Governor Healey visited to view the Greylock Elementary School construction project being supported by the Massachusetts School Building Authority. During her visit the governor was able to learn more about the building project, the implementation of the geothermal wells being used in the design, and the needs of our students and families. Several members of the construction team shared about the trades involved in the project and the design of the building, and gave the governor a tour of the site.

It was a beautiful day on Friday for the Steel Signing Ceremony at the Greylock Elementary School site! More than 50 members of the North Adams community came together to sign a steel beam that was placed in the new school. The site's unofficial "four-legged foreman," Herbie, even signed the beam with his paw print in celebration! Thank you to everyone who joined us to mark this construction milestone!

We can't wait to welcome our students back for the 2026-2027 school year on August 31st (K-12) and September 8th (PreK)! Dr. Callahan and Mr. Sookey are joined by some Drury alums in this video to remind us all how to ride the school bus safely this year.
