If you are a Montgomery County youth between the ages of 14-24 that is looking for employment assistance, consider joining us for an Open Enrollment day. We are so incredibly proud to share that MWN participant, Destini, received the Youth Governor's Individual Achievement Award this year at the PA Workforce Development Awards Luncheon. Destini came into the program during a tough time in her life. She was homeless and pregnant while also raising two kids. She worked hard to secure housing while attending EKG Technician training and working. During her time in the program, she also completed two paid work experiences. Destini was able to secure housing for her family and is currently working as a Medical Assistant with Main Line Heath's OB/GYN department. We are so proud of all that she has achieved and can't wait to see how she continues to grow!

We had a great time visiting Allan Myers Inc. yesterday with the Montgomery County Youth Committee! Our tour was held at Allan Myers headquarters, and we learned about the history of the company. We also heard about all the great benefits they offer and what they look for in an employee. This information helps us connect youth to opportunities that fit their skills and interests.

Happy New Year! Our January Inspiration Station quote is from MontcoWorks NOW participant Kamirah. When Kamirah joined the program, she was looking for assistance to become a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN). Kamirah completed the necessary steps to receive funding for an accelerated practical nursing program at the Lansdale School of Business. She studied diligently and successfully completed her yearlong program to become a certified LPN. We are so proud of Kamirah for reaching this incredible milestone!

Happy Monday everyone! December’s Inspiration Station quote comes from MWN Participant Michael who has been working with his Career Counselor, Danielle, since his senior year of high school. Michael was actively engaged throughout his time in the program. He attended every event that he could and completed 3 paid work experiences through the program. We are so proud of him for finding direct hire employment. We can't forget to give a shout-out to Danielle DeLuca Wilburn for her significant impact on Michael's workforce journey. We are lucky to have her on the MontcoWorks NOW team!
