Second graders in Mrs. Krause’s class conducted research on the trees at Marshall Street. When the children discovered that the courtyard does not have a tree, they were determined to find the perfect specimen. They selected a Honey Locust tree for the space because it withstands air pollution, provides dappled shade, is drought tolerant, and gives both food and shelter to animals. 🌳🐦🐿️
This project was completed in collaboration with Riverbend Environmental Education Center’s Nature-Based STEM Community of Practice. Additionally, the tree was planted in honor of Mr. Jim Krombach, who taught Kindergarten here at Marshall Street for many years. We are grateful for the donation of the tree by Mr. Pete Corbo and its installation by Corbo Tree and Landscaping employees.

On the evening of May 28, Marshall Street hosted its annual Art Show, celebrating the creativity and hard work of our student artists! Families and students were invited to explore a gallery of artwork created throughout the school year. Every student had work on display, showcasing a wide variety of artistic mediums, including paintings, sculptures, weaving, and more. Guests also enjoyed interactive activities such as a scavenger hunt, photo booths, and famous artwork coloring stations. With a fantastic turnout, the event was a wonderful opportunity for our school community to come together and appreciate the incredible talent and imagination of our students. 🎨
